Tintype
We have quite a number of old tintypes of people who we don't know the names of. This tintype was probably made by an itinerant photographer. Such photographers were common in the late 1800's. They went from town to town, setting up a canvas background in a field somewhere, and charging a modest fee for people in the area to have their picture taken. If you look closely, you can just make out grass below the lady's dress. |
