My great-great-grandfather John (at left) ran this store in the part if Portsmouth now known as Boneyfiddle, on Market Square. His two of his daughters are shown: my great-grandmother Easter in the middle (her face is scratched out someone got mad at her, I suppose!), and Martha, who was the youngest.

My great-great-great-grandfather Sam (John's father), who lost his right arm in a threshing accident, is at right. In front of him is his grandson and namesake Sam of LookingForSam as a child.
